NMA is excited to announce registration is now open for our first-ever Tempeh-Making Workshop!

What is tempeh?
A food made from soybeans fermented by the fungus Rhizopus oligosporus.
What to expect:
In this three-hour hands-on class, you will:
- Explore the origins, cultural context, look and taste of tempeh
- Learn about fungi, mold, Rhizopus oligosporus biology
- Build an incubator from a cardboard box
- Prepare beans for incubation
You’ll leave with your own incubator filled with fermenting beans!
Class details:
Held at the Chuckanut Center in Bellingham, WA from 2:30 – 5:30PM. Two dates available; same curriculum, just pick the date that works best for you! Each session will be limited to 10 students.
