Chanterelles in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest The Northwest Mushroomers Association was established in 1989 to promote the understanding and appreciation of mushrooms and to further the study of mycology in northwestern Washington state, USA. Our membership springs from Whatcom and Skagit counties, and parts of Island County.

We meet the second Thursdays of each month during spring and fall (April, May, June and September, October, November) to explore the amazing world of fungi. We feature excellent guest speakers, often from far afield, who love to visit not only because of our abundant Northwest mushrooms but also because of our avid members.

Group forays are often held the weekend following each club meeting. Members receive specific time and location information for each foray by email. Our more experienced members are usually available to share their knowledge of mushroom identification, habitat, and ecosystems with less experienced members. Members are encouraged to bring in specimens for identification, from 7 to 7:30 pm, of each monthly meeting.
